1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the DOS app and website you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, you must not create an account, access or use the service.

2. Service Description

DOS is a location-based social discovery service that helps you discover and connect with people nearby via profiles, favorites, and smart notifications.

We may update, improve, or remove features at any time, including free and paid functionality, without prior notice where permitted by law.

3. Eligibility & Account

• You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement.
• You must provide accurate, current and truthful information and keep your account details up-to-date.
• You are fully responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
• We reserve the right to refuse, suspend or close accounts at our discretion where we reasonably believe there is a breach of these terms or a risk to user safety.

4. User Behaviour & Safety

You must use DOS responsibly. In particular, you agree NOT to:

• Engage in harassment, stalking, threats, hate speech, discrimination, or any form of abusive or illegal conduct.
• Share content that is violent, explicit, pornographic, exploitative, or otherwise inappropriate.
• Impersonate other people, create fake accounts, or misrepresent your identity or age.
• Spam, scrape, hack, reverse engineer or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service or other users’ data.
• Use DOS to promote scams, commercial offers, or illegal activities.

You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, especially when meeting in person. DOS does not conduct criminal background checks and cannot guarantee the conduct of any user. Always use caution and common sense.

5. User Content & License

• You remain the owner of the content you upload (photos, bio, preferences), but you grant DOS a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, display, store, modify and distribute such content solely to operate and improve the service.
• You must only upload content you have the rights to share and that complies with these terms and applicable law.
• We may remove or disable access to any content that we reasonably consider to be illegal, harmful or in violation of these terms.

6. Subscriptions, In-App Purchases & Payments

• Certain features may be offered as paid subscriptions or one-time in-app purchases (for example, premium visibility or extra tools).
• Payments made via the App Store or Google Play are processed by those platforms and are subject to their own terms and refund policies.
• Prices, billing periods and benefits may change; we will apply changes in line with applicable platform and consumer protection rules.
• Unless required by law, payments are generally non-refundable once a subscription period or purchased benefit has started.

7. Location & Background Services

• DOS uses device location (foreground and, if you enable it, background) to show people nearby and deliver proximity-based notifications.
• Location access is based on your explicit consent in the app and device settings. You can disable or restrict it at any time, but some features may stop working.
• DOS is not an emergency or safety service. Do not rely on the app for emergency location or life-critical situations.
• Actual distances, accuracy and availability of location-based features may vary depending on device, network and environment.

8. Notifications & Communications

• We may send you push notifications, in-app messages and emails about account activity, safety alerts, technical issues and updates to our terms or policies.
• You can control push notifications in the app and your device settings. Some service or safety notifications may be necessary and cannot be fully disabled.
• Optional marketing or newsletter emails can be unsubscribed from via the link in the email.

9. Intellectual Property

• The DOS brand, logo, app design, code, text and graphics are owned or licensed by DOS and protected by intellectual property laws.
• You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app and website solely for your own non-commercial use and strictly in accordance with these terms.
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of the service without our prior written consent.

10. Third-Party Services

DOS integrates with third-party services such as app stores, analytics, hosting providers, email and push notification platforms, and may link to external websites or social networks.

Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices, and your use of them is at your own risk.

11. Disclaimers

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy of user profiles or location data.

We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that you will successfully meet or match with any particular user.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DOS and its founders, officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data or goodwill arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.

Where liability cannot be fully excluded, it will be limited to the lowest amount permitted by applicable law and, where relevant, to the amount you paid for the service during the preceding 3 months.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DOS, its founders and partners from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the service, your content, or your breach of these terms or applicable law.

14. Suspension & Termination

• We may suspend or terminate your access to DOS at any time where we reasonably believe you have violated these terms, harmed other users, or created risk or liability for us.
• You may stop using DOS and request account deletion at any time following the instructions in the app or by contacting us.
• Certain provisions (for example intellectual property, limitations of liability, and indemnity) will continue to apply after termination.

15. Governing Law & Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer protection rules that apply in your country of residence.

Any disputes should first be raised with us directly via email. If we cannot resolve the matter, competent courts in Iași, Romania, will generally have jurisdiction, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows the latest version.

Where required by law, we will provide additional notice inside the app or by email. Continued use of the service after changes become effective means you accept the updated terms.
