Does DOS receive my real location?
When you activate nearby sharing and grant the necessary permission, the app can send precise coordinates, accuracy and timing to DOS servers Displaying only approximate proximity or distance to other users does not mean DOS processes only approximate data
Can other users see my exact point?
Ordinary nearby results show eligible public profile information and approximate proximity or distance, not exact coordinates or a map pin Distance and profile information can still reveal proximity or allow inferences Do not treat an approximate display as anonymity
Does closing the app stop everything?
It ends foreground sharing in the 1.0.6 beta foreground mode An optional background session can continue with the screen locked or other apps open and can resume the same authorized session Use DOS stop controls or sign out to end it Older builds differ
If I remove phone permission, can sharing resume?
Removing permission prevents new location access Restoring it can continue a previously authorized background session unless you also stopped that session in DOS Check both the device permission and the DOS setting
Does agreeing to terms activate tracking?
No Terms acceptance, optional location use, background use, analytics and public-card publication are distinct choices A valid implementation must not bundle optional tracking into acceptance of general terms
Why can an old encounter still appear?
Current nearby visibility and recent encounter history are different Encounters may appear in signed-in alerts for up to three hours Server cleanup may occur later Saved favorites and screenshots are separate
Will blocking remove every copy of my profile?
No Blocking prevents discovery between those DOS accounts under the app controls It does not retrieve screenshots, copied public links or content on external services Report attempts to evade a block
Does deleting DOS from my phone delete my account?
No Use the in-app account-deletion flow or request help through Delete account Uninstalling also does not necessarily cancel a store subscription
Does my choice to use DOS waive legal rights?
No You remain responsible for your conduct, and DOS retains duties imposed on its own operations General terms cannot promise blanket immunity, remove mandatory rights or bind independent relatives and acquaintances just because you clicked
Are profiles verified by AI?
A photo-safety check is not identity verification, an age guarantee or a background check Automated systems can make mistakes Use the reporting route if a moderation decision appears wrong
Can I reject website analytics?
Yes Choose Reject optional in Cookie preferences Optional measurement must not start merely because the banner was closed or because you continued browsing The service still processes information needed to deliver pages and handle requests
Are safety reports monitored continuously?
No continuous-monitoring or immediate-response guarantee is made For immediate danger contact emergency services A successful website form submission means acceptance by the delivery service, not a completed investigation
