Built around everyday places
Your campus, your coffee break, your usual route through the city DOS starts with the people and places already part of your day
One city, a shared beginning
Our first focus is Iași A focused launch gives people a chance to discover DOS together rather than spreading a new community too thinly
An independent local project
DOS is not operated by a university Anyone aged 18 or over can take part when access becomes available
DOS is not affiliated with UMF Iași
Local places are part of the story
We are also exploring a pilot for local venues Café, restaurant, gym and other venue owners can tell us what they would like to offer people nearby
Pilot requests are reviewed individually; submitting a request does not guarantee participation
Why start with one city?
Nearby discovery depends on people being in the same area, not just on a large number of accounts spread across the world Starting with Iași gives DOS a focused place to learn how people use the product in everyday settings and where the experience needs improvement
This is an initial rollout focus, not a claim that DOS already has active communities at every café, university or neighbourhood Availability and the number of profiles you see may vary We do not publish a guaranteed number of local members or a public launch date here
New to Iași? Start with a repeatable activity
Think about a place or activity you would be comfortable returning to: a public workshop, a language exchange, a hobby group or a study session Check the organiser’s current information before attending Shared interests give a first conversation a purpose, while repeat visits allow familiarity to develop naturally
DOS can add nearby profile context when available, but it is one part of meeting people Read how to meet people in Iași for a simple plan that works alongside offline activities, without relying on an app to guarantee introductions
Use the free Iași social planner to choose three practical steps around your interests and available time. It works without an account or location access. Check each activity with its organiser; the planner does not book events.
Follow availability or discuss a local pilot
If you want to try DOS, the DOS availability page explains the iOS beta invitation and launch status. You can also request launch updates by email. Joining that list does not reserve a release date or create an app account
If you operate a local venue, use the business pilot page to describe the idea and audience Pilot requests are reviewed individually A venue mention, enquiry or student use does not establish a DOS partnership, endorsement or promise of footfall
